July 2022 has seen a decrease of 1.38% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.92% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 0.18% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 45.28% in July 2022, a 2.47% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 25.78% in July 2022, marking a 24.43% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 8.84% in July 2022, a 7.38% rise from June 2022.
Computer and Information Research Scientists registered a share of 8.43% in July 2022, a 7.41% decline over the previous month.
Top five auto companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 47.94% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s auto industry during July 2022 over previous month.
Dana posted 370 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered an increase of 101.09% over the previous month, followed by Mercedes-Benz Group with 105 jobs and a 162.5% growth. PACCAR with 79 IT jobs and Tesla with 72 jobs, recorded a 10.23% drop and a 157.14% rise, respectively, while Ford Motor recorded a 53.72% decline with 56 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s auto industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 91.16% share in July 2022, an 11.47% increase over June 2022. Mexico featured next with a 4.99% share, down 39.84% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 3.85% share, a drop of 30.49% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.02%, up by 9.37% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 24.76% share, registered a growth of 3.09% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.01% share, down 14.01% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.2%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
