IT jobs accounted for a 6.77% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering a decrease of 4.71% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 69.57% in September 2022, a 51.52% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 17.39% in September 2022, marking a 63.64% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 8.7% in September 2022, a 33.33% drop from August 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 38.71% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s auto industry during September 2022 over previous month.

General Motors posted 7 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a decline of 36.36% over the previous month, followed by Ford Motor with 4 jobs and a 55.56% drop. Faurecia with 3 IT jobs and Motus Holdings with 3 jobs, recorded a 50% rise and a 200% rise, respectively, while Fritz Draxlmaier GmbHKG recorded a 75% decline with 2 job postings during September 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s auto industry

Israel commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 34.78% share in September 2022, a 38.46% decrease over August 2022. South Africa featured next with a 26.09% share, up 100% over the previous month. Cape Verde recorded a 17.39% share, a drop of 55.56% compared with August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.91%, down by 54.05% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with a 17.39% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.
