October 2022 has seen a decrease of 5.54% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 7.26% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 3.15% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 56.1% in October 2022, a 91.67% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 24.39% in October 2022, marking a 150% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 17.07% in October 2022, a 133.33% rise from September 2022.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 2.44% in October 2022, a flat growth over the previous month.
Top five auto companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 153.85% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s auto industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Stellantis posted 13 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered an increase of 1200% over the previous month, followed by Mercedes-Benz Group with 11 jobs and a 450% growth. General Motors with 5 IT jobs and Motus Holdings with 2 jobs, recorded a 28.57% drop and a 33.33% drop, respectively, while Ford Motor recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s auto industry
Morocco commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 31.71% share in October 2022, a 1200% increase over September 2022. South Africa featured next with a 31.71% share, up 116.67% over the previous month. Israel recorded a 14.63% share, a drop of 25% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.85%, up by 68.75% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with a 21.95% share, registered a growth of 350% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 12.2% share, up 150% over September 2022.
