Mexico’s auto industry registered a 10.1% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 5.17% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.21% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.55% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Mexico’s auto industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.23% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s auto industry in August 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 66.37% in August 2022, registering a 92.31% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 15.04% share, an increase of 41.67% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 8.85%, registering a 66.67% rise from July 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 4.42%, up 25% over the previous month.

Top five auto companies in Mexico’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 70.45% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s auto industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

Robert Bosch posted 48 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a rise of 336.36% over the previous month, followed by Continental with 10 jobs and a 52.38% drop. AutoZone with 6 IT jobs and ZF Friedrichshafen with 6 jobs, recorded a 50% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Daimler Truck recorded a flat growth with 5 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.14%, up by 63.83% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 17.7% share, registered an increase of 17.65% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 14.16% share, up 45.45% over July 2022.
