Mexico’s auto industry registered a flat growth in IT hiring activity in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.36% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.04% share in May 2022, recording an increase of 0.24% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 54.1% in May 2022, registering a 2.94% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a 21.31% share, an increase of 18.18% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 16.39%, registering a 25% rise from April 2022.

Top five auto companies in Mexico’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 14.63% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s auto industry during May 2022 over April 2022.

Continental posted 19 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by AutoZone with 16 jobs and a 15.79% drop. Schaeffler with 5 IT jobs and ZF Friedrichshafen with 4 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 100% growth, respectively, while BorgWarner recorded an increase of 200% with 3 job postings during May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.3%, down by 25.49% from April 2022. Entry Level positions with a 21.31% share, registered an increase of 116.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 16.39% share, up 25% over April 2022.
