Mexico’s auto industry registered a 20.6% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 10.51% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.

Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.26% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 0.98% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Mexico’s auto industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.49% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s auto industry in September 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 47.37% in September 2022, registering a 69.66% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 15.79% share, a decrease of 50% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 14.04%, registering a 14.29% rise from August 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 14.04%, down 33.33% over the previous month.

Top five auto companies in Mexico’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 61.11% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s auto industry during September 2022 over August 2022.

Robert Bosch posted 10 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a drop of 79.17% over the previous month, followed by ZF Friedrichshafen with 9 jobs and a 50% growth. AutoZone with 7 IT jobs and Continental with 5 jobs, recorded a 12.5% decline and an 80% decrease, respectively, while Aptiv recorded an increase of 33.33% with 4 job postings during September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.93%, down by 55.91% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with a 24.56% share, registered a decline of 44% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 3.51% share, down 89.47% over August 2022.
