Germany-based company Mercedes-Benz Group’s IT hiring rose 13.8% in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 26.09% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 10.33% share in the company’s total hiring activity in May 2022, and recorded a 1.64% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Mercedes-Benz Group IT hiring in May 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Mercedes-Benz Group, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 63.64% in May 2022, and a 25.64% rise over April 2022, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 15.58% in May 2022, and registered a decline of 36.84%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 10.39% in May 2022, a 100% rise from April 2022.

Europe drives IT hiring at Mercedes-Benz Group

Europe emerged as the leading region in the global auto IT hiring activity in May 2022 with a 48.05% share, which marked a 24.49% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 38.96%, registering an 114.29% month-on-month growth. North America was the third leading region with a 9.09% share and a 16.67% rise over April 2022.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 3.9% and a month-on-month flat growth.

Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 46.75% share in May 2022, an 18.18% decline over April 2022. India featured next with a 28.57% share, up 120% over the previous month.

Junior Level jobs lead Mercedes-Benz Group IT hiring activity in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.34%, up by 14.29% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 25.97% share, a growth of 11.11% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.69% share, flat growth over April 2022.
