Germany-based company Mercedes-Benz Group’s IT hiring declined 6.2% in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 4.6% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 14.26% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2022, and recorded a 0.29% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Mercedes-Benz Group IT hiring in August 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Mercedes-Benz Group, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 53.29% in August 2022, and an 8.25% drop over July 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 17.37% in August 2022, and registered a decline of 6.45%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 14.97% in August 2022, a 16.67% drop from July 2022.

North America drives IT hiring at Mercedes-Benz Group

North America emerged as the leading region in the global auto IT hiring activity in August 2022 with a 52.69% share, which marked a 16.19% drop over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 33.53%, registering a 15.15% month-on-month decline. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 12.57% share and a flat growth over July 2022.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 1.2% and a month-on-month increase of 100%.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 52.1% share in August 2022, a 16.35% decline over July 2022. Germany featured next with a 30.54% share, down 7.27% over the previous month. India recorded an 11.38% share, an increase of 35.71% compared with July 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead Mercedes-Benz Group IT hiring activity in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.46%, down by 16.55% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 20.96% share, a growth of 59.09% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.99% share, down 61.54% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.6%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
