Japan’s auto industry IT recruitment activity rises 19.4% in July 2022

Japan’s auto industry registered a 19.4% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 8.03% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.85% share in July 2022, recording an increase of 1.14% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Japan’s auto industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Japan’s auto industry in July 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 73.21% in July 2022, registering a 78.26% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 19.64% share, an increase of 1000% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 5.36%, registering a flat growth from June 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 1.79%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five auto companies in Japan’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 444.44% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Japan’s auto industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Woven Planet Holdings posted 37 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a rise of 640% over the previous month, followed by Continental with 4 jobs and a 100% growth. NGK Spark Plug with 4 IT jobs and Bayerische Motoren Werke with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while ZF Friedrichshafen recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.43%, up by 100% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with a 17.86% share, registered an increase of 100% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 10.71% share, up 20% over June 2022.
