India’s auto industry registered a 6.9% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.2% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.

Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 21.93% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 2.79% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 59.72% in September 2022, registering a 35.22% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 18.92% share, a decrease of 16.79% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 9.38%, registering a 20% rise from August 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 6.25%, down 33.33% over the previous month.

Top five auto companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 27.42% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s auto industry during September 2022 over August 2022.

EDAG Engineering Group posted 59 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a drop of 51.64% over the previous month, followed by Robert Bosch with 58 jobs and a 59.15% drop. ZF Friedrichshafen with 58 IT jobs and Faurecia with 52 jobs, recorded an 18.31% decline and an 8.33% growth, respectively, while Mahindra & Mahindra recorded a flat growth with 51 job postings during September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.68%, down by 23.01% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 36.81% share, registered a decline of 22.34% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.34% share, down 69.51% over August 2022.
