Germany’s auto industry registered a 10.6% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 10.31% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 10.6% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.77% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s auto industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.8% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s auto industry in October 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 57.83% in October 2022, registering a 56.46% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16.87% share, an increase of 1.82% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 14.76%, registering a 19.67% decline from September 2022.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 5.42%, down 35.71% over the previous month.

Top five auto companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 1.84% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s auto industry during October 2022 over September 2022.

Porsche Automobil Holding posted 90 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 4.26% over the previous month, followed by Mercedes-Benz Group with 51 jobs and a 37.8% drop. Brose Fahrzeugteile GmbHKG with 28 IT jobs and ZF Friedrichshafen with 27 jobs, recorded a 211.11% growth and a 58.82% growth, respectively, while Continental recorded an increase of 66.67% with 25 job postings during October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.58%, down by 49.78% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with an 18.67% share, registered a decline of 32.61% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.45% share, down 55.29% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.3%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
