May 2022 has seen an increase of 6.37% in the overall hiring activity when compared with April 2022.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 62.61% in May 2022, an 18.88% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 12.75% in May 2022, marking an 18.02% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 11.06% in May 2022, a 3.95% rise from April 2022.

Top five auto companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 171.43% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s auto industry during May 2022 over previous month.

Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche posted 117 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by AB Volvo with 49 jobs and a 25.64% growth. Volkswagen with 42 IT jobs and Faurecia with 39 jobs, recorded a 55.56% rise and a 44.44% rise, respectively, while BorgWarner recorded a 216.67% increase with 38 job postings during May 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s auto industry

Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 28.29% share in May 2022, a 0.5% increase over April 2022. Sweden featured next with a 14.57% share, up 36.84% over the previous month. The UK recorded a 13.31% share, a growth of 1.06% compared with April 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.65%, up by 11.51% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 12.75% share, registered a growth of 9.64% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.61% share, up 36.36% over April 2022.
