July 2022 has seen a decrease of 3.92% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.

IT jobs accounted for an 11.15% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 0.11% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 55% in July 2022, a 59.07% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 20.7% in July 2022, marking a 25.77% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 9.24% in July 2022, a 26.53% drop from June 2022.

Top five auto companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 68.34% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s auto industry during July 2022 over previous month.

Continental posted 123 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a decline of 50% over the previous month, followed by Robert Bosch with 114 jobs and an 88.21% drop. Tata Motors with 94 IT jobs and Mercedes-Benz Group with 65 jobs, recorded a 30.56% rise and a 17.72% drop, respectively, while Volkswagen recorded a 1.85% decline with 53 job postings during July 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s auto industry

Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 31.65% share in July 2022, a 65.65% decrease over June 2022. The UK featured next with a 26.6% share, up 5.42% over the previous month. Romania recorded a 9.41% share, a drop of 57.85% compared with June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.34%, down by 49.88% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16.34% share, registered a decline of 29.78% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.15% share, down 59.89% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.17%, recording a month-on-month growth of 100%.
