Germany-based company Continental’s IT hiring declined 8.9% in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 9.36% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 15.97% share in the company’s total hiring activity in September 2022, and recorded a 0.2% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Continental IT hiring in September 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Continental, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 56.86% in September 2022, and a 47.27% drop over August 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 29.41% in September 2022, and registered a decline of 11.76%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 6.86% in September 2022, a 46.15% drop from August 2022.

Europe drives IT hiring at Continental

Europe emerged as the leading region in the global auto IT hiring activity in September 2022 with a 49.02% share, which marked a 52.38% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 26.47%, registering an 8% month-on-month growth. North America was the third leading region with a 24.51% share and a 37.5% drop over August 2022.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 19.61% share in September 2022, a 33.33% growth over August 2022. Germany featured next with a 14.71% share, down 68.75% over the previous month. Hungary recorded a 12.75% share, an increase of 225% compared with August 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead Continental IT hiring activity in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.59%, down by 36.28% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 15.69% share, a decline of 33.33% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.73% share, down 57.58% over August 2022.
