Continental’s IT hiring activity declines 14.7% in August 2022

Germany-based company Continental’s IT hiring declined 14.7% in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 14.51% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 16.45% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2022, and recorded a 0.35% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Continental IT hiring in August 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Continental, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 68.24% in August 2022, and a 51.67% drop over July 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 21.18% in August 2022, and registered a decline of 50%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 4.71% in August 2022, a 78.95% drop from July 2022.

Europe drives IT hiring at Continental

Europe emerged as the leading region in the global auto IT hiring activity in August 2022 with a 70.59% share, which marked a 51.22% drop over the previous month.

North America stood next with 16.47%, registering a 64.1% month-on-month decline. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 12.94% share and a 59.26% drop over July 2022.

Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 27.06% share in August 2022, a 48.89% decline over July 2022. Romania featured next with a 25.88% share, down 54.17% over the previous month. France recorded a 14.12% share, an increase of 20% compared with July 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead Continental IT hiring activity in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.82%, down by 62.96% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 28.24% share, a decline of 38.46% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 12.94% share, down 38.89% over July 2022.
