China’s auto industry IT recruitment activity rises 7.8% in August 2022

China’s auto industry registered a 7.8% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 11.72% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.43% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 1.03% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s auto industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.17% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s auto industry in August 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 66.61% in August 2022, registering a 46.55% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 27.27% share, an increase of 83.33% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 2.31%, registering a 100% rise from July 2022.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 1.82%, up 10% over the previous month.

Top five auto companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 88.94% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s auto industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

Ningbo Joyson Electronic posted 161 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a drop of 17.44% over the previous month, followed by Guangzhou Xiaopeng Automobile Technology with 89 jobs and a flat growth. BYD with 79 IT jobs and Robert Bosch with 75 jobs, recorded a 3850% growth and a 1775% growth, respectively, while Punch Powertrain recorded an increase of 17.65% with 40 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.37%, up by 38.6% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16.03% share, registered an increase of 223.33% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.6% share, up 48.39% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.99%, recording a month-on-month increase of 200%.
