Asia-Pacific witnessed an 8.5% rise in IT hiring activity in the auto industry in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

August 2022 has seen an increase of 9.66% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 12.57% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering a decrease of 0.99% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 65.24% in August 2022, a 45.89% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 22.06% in August 2022, marking a 27.41% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 4.75% in August 2022, a 60.11% drop from July 2022.

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 4.34% in August 2022, a 12.07% rise over the previous month.

Top five auto companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 91.77% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s auto industry during August 2022 over previous month.

Robert Bosch posted 297 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered an increase of 924.14% over the previous month, followed by Ningbo Joyson Electronic with 168 jobs and an 18.05% drop. EDAG Engineering Group with 122 IT jobs and Valeo with 93 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 6.06% drop, respectively, while ZF Friedrichshafen recorded a 30.88% increase with 89 job postings during August 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s auto industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 48.4% share in August 2022, a 12.07% increase over July 2022. China featured next with a 40.44% share, up 54.34% over the previous month. Vietnam recorded a 2.94% share, a growth of 4300% compared with July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.3%, up by 30.71% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 24% share, registered a growth of 23.37% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.23% share, up 3.07% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.47%, recording a month-on-month growth of 75%.
