Asia-Pacific witnessed a 4.0% rise in IT hiring activity in the auto industry in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
May 2022 has seen an increase of 3.11% in the overall hiring activity when compared with April 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 10.59% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in May 2022, registering a decrease of 0.11% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 62.37% in May 2022, a 10.24% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 20.68% in May 2022, marking a 28.42% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 10.17% in May 2022, a 900% rise from April 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 3.9% in May 2022, a 91.67% rise over the previous month.
Top five auto companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 110.56% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s auto industry during May 2022 over previous month.
Mahindra & Mahindra posted 74 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered an increase of 1750% over the previous month, followed by ZF Friedrichshafen with 64 jobs and a 4.92% growth. Mitsubishi Motors with 63 IT jobs and BorgWarner with 58 jobs, recorded a 65.79% rise and a 241.18% rise, respectively, while Continental recorded an 81.82% increase with 40 job postings during May 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s auto industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 56.61% share in May 2022, a 2.05% decrease over April 2022. China featured next with a 30.17% share, up 30.88% over the previous month. Thailand recorded a 3.05% share, a growth of 12.5% compared with April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.07%, up by 42.35% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with an 18.31% share, registered a decline of 42.55% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.46% share, down 6.38% over April 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.17%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
