September 2022 has seen a decrease of 4.13% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 12.81% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering a decrease of 0.98% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 58.56% in September 2022, a 39.57% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 21.86% in September 2022, marking a 24.29% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 10.93% in September 2022, a 62.16% rise from August 2022.

Top five auto companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 39.47% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s auto industry during September 2022 over previous month.

Ningbo Joyson Electronic posted 193 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Robert Bosch with 74 jobs and a 75.08% drop. ZF Friedrichshafen with 73 IT jobs and EDAG Engineering Group with 59 jobs, recorded a 17.98% drop and a 51.64% drop, respectively, while Faurecia recorded a 7.41% increase with 58 job postings during September 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s auto industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 52.46% share in September 2022, a 27.55% decrease over August 2022. China featured next with a 35.34% share, down 35.87% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 5.28% share, a growth of 48.72% compared with August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.39%, down by 29.68% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 25.05% share, registered a decline of 28.57% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.93% share, down 41.67% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.55%, recording a month-on-month decline of 14.29%.
