October 2022 has seen a decrease of 11.9% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 13.09% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 0.26% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 59.74% in October 2022, a 24.58% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 23.54% in October 2022, marking a 33.75% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 6.71% in October 2022, a 54.81% drop from September 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 4.73% in October 2022, a 27.12% decline over the previous month.
Top five auto companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 10.49% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s auto industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Ningbo Joyson Electronic posted 99 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a decline of 55.41% over the previous month, followed by BYD with 85 jobs and a 129.73% growth. Valeo with 78 IT jobs and Faurecia with 64 jobs, recorded a 95% rise and a 10.34% rise, respectively, while ZF Friedrichshafen recorded a 19.44% decline with 58 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s auto industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 50.61% share in October 2022, a 32.85% decrease over September 2022. China featured next with a 39.71% share, down 15.85% over the previous month. Philippines recorded a 3.52% share, a growth of 33.33% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.86%, down by 25.99% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.66% share, registered a decline of 33.12% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.82% share, down 39.22% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.66%, recording a month-on-month decline of 14.29%.
