Haval Concept H: GWM will introduce the brand to the local market in 2021 and produce certain models locally. The Concept H, a PHEV, is the Haval F7 with a modified front end.
Hyundai Aura: this sub-4m long sedan shares much with the Grand i10 Nios. It is replacement for the local market’s XCent and HMIL’s rival for the big-selling Maruti Suzuki DZire. BS 6-compliant 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engines feature.
Hyundai Creta: already seen in China as the new generation ix25, this is the premiere for the Creta-badged and locally manufactured model.
Kia Carnival: local assembly of this big MPV which has been around in South Korea and elsewhere since 2014 is about to get underway. The model for India comes only with a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel and an eight-speed automatic gearbox, while seven-, eight- and nine-seat layouts are to be available.

By GlobalDataKia Sonet concept: a special version of this future global model will be manufactured at the Kia plant in Andra Pradesh. The codename is QYi and this small SUV will share much with the Hyundai Venue and be around the same size.
Mahindra eKUV100: the concept from the 2018 Auto Expo has become a production model. Outputs from the motor are 40kW and 120Nm, the battery pack’s capacity is just 15.9kWh and the maximum range is 147km.
Mahindra eXUV300 concept: electric version of the existing XUV300. Production version is expected later this year.
Mahindra Funster concept: two-door electric crossover-roadster with a cowl windscreen. The front end is said to offer a preview of the successor for the XUV500.
Maruti Suzuki Futuro-e concept: electric crossover is meant to be a preview of a new styling direction for MSIL.
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza facelift: 1,248cc diesel engine is dropped, replaced by a 1.5-litre petrol.
MG 360M: a rebadging of China’s Baojun 360, a 4.6m long MPV launched there in 2018.
MG G10: octagon badges on the Maxus G10/LDV G10 for the first time. No official word from SAIC about whether or not it will sell this large MPV in the local market as an MG.
MG Gloster: preview of the 5.2m long ladder frame SUV which is sold in other markets as the LDV D90 or Maxus D90.
MG Hector Plus: prototype of a 40mm longer Hector which buyers will be able to order with six or seven seats.
MG Marvel X concept: renaming and slight restyle of the Roewe Marvel X which premiered at the Beijing motor show in 2018.
MG RC6 concept: 4,925mm long and based on SAIC’s Baojun RC-6, a crossover-sedan. Production model is said to be headed for local production in 2021.
MG Vision-i concept: Details from SAIC are vague but this is expected to either be the Roewe Vision-i concept from last year’s Shanghai motor show – a large crossover – or else a new concept entirely.
Škoda Rapid 1.0-litre: the need to comply with BS6 means the Rapid’s 1.6 petrol and 1.6 turbo diesel engines are dropped and replaced by a three-cylinder petrol. India’s Rapid should remain in production at Chakan until 2021, at which point a car based on the MQB AO IN platform will supplant it.
Škoda Vision In: this is a preview of a small SUV for the Indian market. Some sources claim the production model might be called Kosmiq, others say it will be Kamiq. As with the India-specific equivalent for Volkswagen (see below), this vehicle will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB A0 IN architecture. The concept is 4,256mm long and powered by a 110kW (150PS) 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine.
Suzuki Ignis facelift: announced by SMC rather than by MSIL.
Tata Altroz EV prototype: updated version of the car which was a world debut at the 2019 Geneva motor show. A production model is expected in 2021. This should have the same battery pack and motor as the Nexon EV.
Tata Gravitas: eleven months after a prototype called Buzzard premiered at the 2019 Geneva motor show, a pre-production example of the H7X project had its public premiere.
Tata HBX concept: details to follow.
Tata Nexon facelift: in addition to the restyle, the engines have been modified to meet the emissions norms of India’s forthcoming BS6 standard.
Tata Sierra EV concept: an old model name returns for this small three-door electric SUV which has a glass canopy above the rear occupants.
Tata Tiago and Tigor facelifts: these updated small cars also lose the option of diesel power as the 1.2-litre petrol engine becomes BS6-compliant.
Volkswagen Taigun: while it will be longer than the standard wheelbase model built in Spain, India’s locally made Taigun will not be identical to the T-Cross built by VW do Brasil or China’s FAW Volkswagen (at first glance it looks almost identical). Like the latter two, an extended body will feature but there will be high ground clearance, unique suspension and a special platform called MQB A0 IN to be shared with the small Skoda SUV which will also be made locally in 2021.
