Aurus Senat

To be built in partnership with Sollers, the Senat is a limousine which has been seen in pre-production, armoured form as transport for Vladimir Putin. Production cars will offer a choice of two modular bi-turbo petrol hybrid engines developed by Porsche. They are a 600PS 4.4-litre V8 or an 850PS 6.6-litre V12.

The standard car is 5,630mm long with the extended wheelbase body measuring 6,630mm. The start of small scale manufacturing is planned for 2019 according to NAMI, the company behind the project: Russia’s Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engines Institute.

The Aurus brand name is an amalgamation of ‘aurum’ the Latin for gold, and ‘rus’ for Russia.

Haval F7

F7 is being revealed two days ahead of it also being displayed at the Chengdu motor show. Great Wall created this model by slightly altering the lines of the Wey VV6. The F7 is to be positioned above the F5 and also between the H6 and H6 Coupe. The world premiere in Russia is to draw attention to the brand ahead of the opening of the Tula plant during 2019.

Lada 4×4 Vision concept

Yet another design study which may or may not point to the styling of the long-overdue replacement for the Taiga/4×4. Why Groupe Renault continues to delay the replacement for a 31 year old vehicle as the local market for SUVs booms is perplexing.

Lada Granta facelift

All these years on from having been a world premiere at the 2011 Moscow show, AvtoVAZ has given the Granta an update instead of replacing it. Lada might be enjoying a seven-year high in market share but Hyundai and Kia are rising rapidly and their cars and SUVs have far shorter life cycles.

Renault Arkana

A coupé-crossover for Russia and certain other countries, the Arkana will be built in Moscow from 2019. This is not a replacement for the Kaptur: it supplements that model. The basic platform from the second generation Clio is evolved yet again, this time gaining a new name” Alliance B0+. The B Zero Plus architecture is front-wheel drive and will likely be the basis for other R-N-M Alliance vehicles, including, potentially, Ladas.

Renault Logan Stepway

A small niche is being investigated by Renault’s Russian operations via this version of the almost six-years old sedan. The Stepway, like others which use that suffix, has elevated suspension (raised by 40mm in this case) and wheelarches covered in black plastic to give it the SUV look, even though it is front-wheel drive.
