A slip clutch device for an electric driving machine has been granted a patent (Publication Number: US11920648B2). The device includes a rotation axis, a first side with a first spline for a shaft, a second side with a second spline for another shaft, and a slip clutch with a friction disc and plate. The unique feature of this device is the use of electrically insulating material in the friction disc or plate to prevent electrical disruptive discharge lines between the two sides.

Additionally, the patent includes claims for the entirety of the friction plate being made from electrically insulating material, the use of an axially acting disc spring for pressing the friction plate against the disc, and a form-fitting connection between the plate and the second side. The slip clutch device is designed to transmit torque up to an overload torque while also preventing electrical disruptive discharge lines. The patent also covers the application of this slip clutch device in a drive train for an electric driving machine and a motor vehicle with at least one drive wheel that is driveable by the drive train.
