This time of year is a time for lists and the guys at Edmunds came up with one – 100 worst cars of all time. For a bit of balance, their ‘100 best cars’ is also worth a look, and debate, being, of course, rather US-centric.
Industrial niggle continued at Fiat, you have to wonder whether this is smart thinking by unions in the face of ongoing suggestions Marchionne might relocate the automaker to the US.
On the research side, we’ve been looking at automated manuals, not my favourite type of transmission but one which is quite common here in Europe.
And we learned of a new tie-up between GM and BMW, expected to be announced early in 2012.
Speaking of BMW, the UK unit hosted an interesting event for media last night in London, with plenty of emphasis on its upcoming London Olympics 2012 sponsorship. They also showed off a couple of new cars – the Mini Roadster and the one I’m still drooling over – the 6 series Gran Coupe, a Merc CLS challenger.
