Quarterly results season is with is again with some passable numbers from the biggies already in and more to come. As usual, we have grouped the coverage together in one handy spot.
There are signs of a thaw in frosty relations between Mercedes and France after a court got involved in the air conditioner refrigerant row.
We’ve been out catching up with Torotrak and watching with interest a tech tie between Daimler and Aston Martin as Toyota and Ford decide to abandon a hybrid JV.
Bentley has given the green light to its SUV and BMW priced its i3 EV. But not yet the range extender version I rather fancy.
Now for the commercial break: We are joining with LMC Automotive at the Frankfurt IAA on 13 September to find out whether demand in Europe will start exhibiting the growth that has been seen in other markets and how key trends and drivers, such as mobility, are shaping its future. 10am or 1pm starts.
We are also planning to host a conference in Detroit in November this year. It’s called ‘Future Mobility 2013’ and we’re already firmly in the habit of using the acronym FM13. The idea behind FM13 is to address the challenges ahead for mobility and to focus on the changes that are now forcing their way onto companies’ planning horizons. See you there?
Have a nice weekend.
