The recall specifically involves minivans built at the Windsor, Ontario, assembly plant in Canada from September 1, 2001 until March 11, 2002, approximately a quarter of the 2002 model year production volume.

About half of the vehicles inspected will receive a new fuel tank assembly due to possible faulty welding at the fuel tank supplier’s plant.

Minivans produced at the St. Louis, Missouri plant are not affected. Chrysler said it has no reports of fires or injuries related to the problem.
