Nasser’s enthusiasm for the Internet when he was at Ford saw the company make substantial investments in high-tech and Internet-based systems, although his critics maintained that the results were disappointing.
Nasser’s vision of a leaner, faster Ford that would transcend unfashionable “rustbelt” imagery and become a global customer services company hard-wired into the new Internet economy, crashed along with the high-tech sector’s crash in 2000.
