Car audio equipment maker Clarion on Monday told Reuters it would supply 200,000 car navigation systems to Nissan for three new cars.

Clarion already supplies Nissan with audio systems and will ship DVD-based navigation systems for the new cars due to debut in the business year beginning this April, Reuters said.

With each sat-nav unit worth around 100,000 yen ($US753), Reuters said, Clarion had estimated the deal as worth about 20 billion yen ($US150 million) in its next business year.

The voice-commanded system for Nissan’s high-end models will also play DVD videos and read out e-mail messages, Reuters added.
