FCA is due to replace only one of its full-size minivans, these being the Chrysler Town & Country/Grand Voyager, Dodge Grand Caravan and the slow-selling Lancia Voyager. In May 2014, FCA told the media that the Grand Caravan would be axed in 2016 with no direct replacement. All of FCA’s big minivans are made at Windsor in Ontario, and this will also be the location for the T&C/Grand Voyager replacement.

FCA’s Sergio Marchionne told the Canadian media in September 2014 that Windsor would be closed for 12 weeks in 2015 to allow for a refit. The work would “bridge [sic] between the first and second quarter” of the year.

FCA has previously stated that there will be a PHEV derivative of its next Chrysler minivan. Other variants should be powered by a 3.2-litre V6, though there will logically also be a diesel for Europe.
