Just back from what was my first ever Honda launch event to bring you news of the 2015 CR-V update for Europe, majoring, of course on a new diesel engine and ZF’s new(ish) nine-speed automatic.
That was also a good opportunity to check on progress of the Jazz, coming at the end of summer, after a preview at Paris last year.
After what sounds like a major, and heroic, salvage effort, the Hoegh Osaka, aka south coast tourist attraction, is now upright again (more or less) and berthed in Southampton docks. Of course, all we ghouls want to know is what state the cargo’s in, particularly that Rolls-Royce Wraith. Our Shipping Reporter listened in to the press conference and it seems ‘specialised equipment’ might be needed to fish some of the cargo out which does not sound good.
From our new columnist, Ray Hutton, came scrutiny of Audi – is the company over doing model proliferation? Well worth a look.
We also learned that Euro 6 emissions requirements will eventually do for a Porsche engine and that Maserati has placed a stay of execution on a couple of models.
Have a nice weekend.
