Ford claims to have started the trend of offering trucks in high-end trim levels. Some 10 years ago the average F-150 transaction price was about US$26,000, now prices can exceed US$60,000.
The 2015 F-150 is assembled at Ford’s Dearborn truck plant while its Kansas City facility begins output today. Combined, Kansas and Dearborn production will be around 700,000 units a year.
