South Korea’s LG Chem Ltd has signed an agreement with China’s Great Wall Motors to supply batteries for electric vehicles.
The batteries will be fitted to a new plug-in SUV due to go into production in 2017.
Great Wall is China’s largest manufacturer of SUVs and employs around 70,000 people. SUVs make up one of China’s fastest growing vehicle segments.
