CHINA: Hyundai assembler adds Sonata cabin air filter to counter SARS – report
Beijing Hyundai Automobile Co Ltd, a joint venture between Beijing Automobile Industry Holdings Co and South Korea's Hyundai Motor Group, has launched a Sonata sedan model equipped with a cabin air filter to counteract the airborne SARS virus affecting China and the company reports strong demand, the AccessAsia website said.
Beijing Hyundai Automobile Co Ltd, a joint venture between Beijing Automobile Industry Holdings Co and South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Group, has launched a Sonata sedan model equipped with a cabin air filter to counteract the airborne SARS virus affecting China and the company reports strong demand, the AccessAsia website said.
The report also said that the company produced 5,050 Sonata sedans in May 2003, selling approximately 5,000 units.
The JV, established in mid-October 2002, produces the mid-size South Korea-designed sedans priced between RMB179,000 and 265,000 each, AccessAsia said.
