Nissan said it would temporarily "adjust" (read: cut) production at three of its factories in Japan, "due to decreased demand in the automobile market".

"This measure adds to efforts to contain the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus and prioritises the well-being of employees, their families, suppliers and society in general," the automaker said in a statement.

At the Oppama plant vehicle production will be suspended on 3, 13 and 24 April plus 1 May.

At Tochigi vehicle production will be suspended from 6-22 April and on 1 May.

At Kyushu night shift vehicle production will be suspended from 2-30 April and all production suspended on 1 May.
