Robert Bosch expects to book EUR1bn (US$1.1bn) per year by 2016 from sales of automated driving assistance systems, a senior executive said.

The company sold over 50m surround sensors in 2014. It has 2,000 engineers working on these technologies compared with 700 two years earlier, Reuters reported.

Bosch said the number of radar and video sensors sold in 2014 doubled and it expects sales of these sensors to double again in 2015.

It also expects to have made 10m radar sensors by 2016.
