Volkswagen Group’s Škoda Auto plans a variety of maintenance and expansion projects during two or three week summer holiday breaks at its factories in Mladá Boleslav, Kvasiny and Vrchlabí.

The key focus is on Kvasiny expansion between 27 July and 14 August and maintenance in Mladá Boleslav and Vrchlabí from 3 to 14 August.

Kvasiny makes the Superb and Yeti and production capacity is set to increase to 280,000 vehicles annually. Holiday projects will include installing new paint shop equipment and expanding body shop production lines. Final assembly lines will be expanded as work continues on building a new logistics hall.

Mladá Boleslav will get a new cooling zone for its paint shop and updates for its engine block line.

Further DQ 200 gearbox production expansion is planned for Vrchlabí which produces the transmission for other group brands as well as Skoda. Capacity is set to increase from 1,500 to 2,000 units daily by spring 2016.
