Nokian Tyres’ net sales fell 6.5% to EUR345.5m (US$376.9m) compared with EUR369.5m in the year ago period. Operating profit for the period was down 11.2% to EUR80.6m from EUR90.7m. Profit before tax for the period fell 6.9% to EUR73.2m compared with EUR78.6m. The company’s profit for the period fell 2.4% to EUR64.5m from EUR66.1m.

Its net sales for the first half ended 30 June 2015 were down 8% to EUR626.8m compared with EUR681.5m in the year ago period. Operating profit for the period fell 19% to EUR128.8m from EUR159.1m in the year ago period. Profit before tax for the period increased 1.6% to EUR136.7m from EUR134.6m. The company’s profit for the period increased 90.6% to EUR199.8m compared with EUR104.8m.
