BMW has diverted its imports into China to Shanghai following explosions in Tianjin.
Earlier Tianjin would handle imports of about 2,000 vehicles per week. These have been redirected to Shanghai, which gets around 10,000 vehicles every week.
The company has been unable to estimate the number of its cars that have been damaged in the explosion as access to factories within 3km of the blast zone is denied, Reuters reported.
BMW’s Shenyang plant is operating normally.
