Hyundai Motor has agreed to hire a further 2,000 temporary workers on a permanent basis from 2017, as the company looks to put an end to a key source of disagreement with its labour unions. Last year, the company had already agreed to award full-time contracts to 4,000 temporary workers in 2017.

Hyundai also agreed to give full-time contracts to sub-contractors on a 'regular' basis from 2018, as and when positions become available.
