Renault says Gilles Vidal is to join the Group’s Design team, starting in November, 2020.

Vidal will report to EVP, Corporate Design and member of Groupe Renault executive committee, Laurens van den Acker.

“Gilles has an intimate knowledge of creating strong and attractive design-led brands,” said van den Acker.

“His widely recognised experience, his sense of innovation and passion for design will be great assets for Groupe Renault. Gilles has been an inspiration for many and I’m looking forward to work [ing] with him to meet the challenges of tomorrow’s mobility.”

Vidal has been design director of the Peugeot brand since 2010. Within the PSA Group, he was also in charge of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) developments, as well as the creation of the Peugeot Design Lab agency.

Vidal has spent his entire career with the PSA Group. He started in 1996 at Citroën, successively in exterior and interior design, then as manager of the Citroën C4 and C4 Picasso.
