Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Korea has appointed Jake Aumann as its new managing director, replacing Pablo Rosso who was suspended by the company last month following allegations of sexual misconduct and abusive behaviour towards staff.

Aumann served as the head of FCA’s Chinese unit for the last two years prior to this appointment and was set to begin his new role next week. He was previously in charge of sales and marketing for a number of key Asian markets including South Korea, Japan and India.

Argentina-born Rosso had been FCA Korea’s managing director since 2013 and was also appointed chairman of the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association Korean (KAIDA) earlier this year. He was suspended from both positions on 24 July following the misconduct allegations.

FCA sold 10,251 vehicles – mainly Jeep SUVs – in South Korea in 2019, up by 35% on the previous year, but sales fell by close to 16% to 4,619 units in the first seven months of 2020.
