North Macedonian based Peugeot importer Euroimpex has signed a contract to become the Opel importer for Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Albania, the German carmaker said.
After the transaction, Euroimpex will become Opel's wholesale importer for those countries by acquiring the Opel businesses in each, Opel said in a statement cited by SeeNews.com.
The transaction and the launch of the new business model was subject to the official merger approval of the respective authorities.
Established in 1990, Euroimpex has been an official importer for the Peugeot brand since 1994. The company has been Peugeot importer for Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Albania for the last five years.
Opel sold about 2,500 vehicles in Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Albania last year.
