Global aluminium producer RUSAL said it had become a "preferred long-term sustainable supplier of primary foundry alloys" to Hyundai Sungwoo Holdings.
Hyundai Sungwoo, headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, is one of the largest automotive and auto parts company, and is top global supplier to Hyundai Motor Group (Hyundai, Kia).
"Such cooperation with the company displays RUSAL's expertise to supply high quality foundry alloys for car wheel manufacturing," the Russian firm said in a statement.
RUSAL produces and supplies foundry aluminium alloys for the global automotive industry with a particular focus on east Asia as one of the world's major powerhouse for automotive and auto parts manufacturers.
The deal with Hyundai Sungwoo strengthens its claimed leading position in the region, with an opportunity to boost sales in China.
"South Korea has been one of the key markets for RUSAL in Asia where we have seen increasing demand for low carbon aluminium. We are truly proud that our metal, produced by clean energy, contributes into the development of the green economy. I would like to thank Hyundai Sungwoo for their continued confidence and support of our products after many years of successful cooperation together as we both share our values and commitment to sustainable development," said Roman Andryushin, sales and marketing chief of the alloy supplier.
