Renault recently said that in four years it expects exports to account for 40% of all Brazilian production. So far in 2002 only 4% of locally made vehicles were exported.

Renault plans to produce two new cars in Brazil in the next few years to increase export sales. The French car maker will produce the redesigned Scénic minivan and the new Megane II in its São José dos Pinhais plant, in Paraná state.

In March 2003, Renault Brazil will also launch the “Mark 2” Clio range with the redesigned front end and new dashboard introduced in Europe late in 2000.

Renault currently builds Clio hatchbacks and unique sedan versions in Brazil, along with the current Megane I-based Scénic and also the Master van.
