Benteler has opened a plant in Mos, Spain, to produce rear-axle components for a new platform for PSA and creating 175 extra jobs.

The eighth Benteler plant in Spain is located near Vigo and will start operations next month. The new plant covers an area of 12,000 square metres.

Production in Mos will focus on welding, painting and laser cutting. The new site will create an additional 175 jobs in the region of Galicia. Benteler currently employs 550 people in Vigo.

Constructed as Benteler’s first smart factory in Region Southern Europe, the new factory will use digital technologies.
