The return on sales forecast for Mercedes-Benz Vans was now expected to be minus 2% to minus 4%.

Announcing Q1 results in April, Daimler had said the vans return on sales would be 0% to 2%.

Group EBIT for 2019 had been forecast slightly higher than in the previous year.

"Relevant for the reassessment is an increase in expected expenses in connection with various ongoing governmental proceedings and measures with regard to Mercedes-Benz diesel vehicles," Daimler said in a statement.

Also in April, the European Commission accused Daimler, along with BMW and VW of breaching EU antitrust rules from 2006 to 2014 by colluding to restrict competition on the development of petrol and diesel emissions control technology for passenger cars.
