Avtovaz exported 88,000 vehicles in 2001.

According to the Interfax report, Kuchai noted that a sharp increase in exports is not expedient “as the 100% saturation of the domestic market remains a priority for the Volga Automobile Plant.”

According to company information, Avtovaz exports vehicles to 48 countries, half of which have developed economies.

The most popular export models are the VAZ-2110 and the Niva SUV.
