The Ellesmere Port plant recently announced it would drop a shift in response to lower demand for the Astra model it currently makes and to make its operations more competitive.

In 2017, Vauxhall slipped from number two to number three spot in the UK car market.

Norman will be responsible for executing the turnaround business strategy in the UK and Ireland.

Norman will report to Peter Christian Kuespert, Sales, Marketing and Aftersales Managing Director of Opel/Vauxhall.

Stephen Norman joined Groupe PSA in May 2014 as Chief Marketing Officer and was appointed Senior Vice President, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer in 2016.

Norman succeeds Rory Harvey, who has elected to leave the business at the end of February.
