Stephen Norman has been named new MD of PSA-owned Vauxhall brand in the UK (which also includes responsibility for Opel sales in Ireland).
PSA recently said it aims to make its Opel/Vauxhall operations – acquired from General Motors last year – profitable by 2020. The UK Vauxhall operations include manufacturing facilities in Luton and Ellesmere Port.
The Ellesmere Port plant recently announced it would drop a shift in response to lower demand for the Astra model it currently makes and to make its operations more competitive.
In 2017, Vauxhall slipped from number two to number three spot in the UK car market.
Norman will be responsible for executing the turnaround business strategy in the UK and Ireland.
Norman will report to Peter Christian Kuespert, Sales, Marketing and Aftersales Managing Director of Opel/Vauxhall.
