The Volkswagen Truck & Bus Group sold around 205,000 vehicles of its MAN, Scania, and Volkswagen Caminhoes e Onibus brands in 2017, up 12% year on year. All three brands boosted sales.
MAN Truck & Bus sales were up 8% at 89,990 vehicles. Scania's sales rose to 90,780, up by 12%. Volkswagen Caminhoes e Onibus sold 25,880 units, an increase of 27%. This growth was fueled by exports and the positive market rise in Brazil.

Truck & Bus CEO Andreas Renschler said: "[We] recorded extremely positive sales figures in the second consecutive year since the company was founded. The [range] is very attractive which why we have been able to reap the benefits of the demand for commercial vehicles in the regions."
The truck business sold 183,480 units, up 11%. Sales of 106,580 in the EU28+2 region (EU member states, Norway, and Switzerland) were flat but South American volume rose 30% to 29,590 and the group was market leader in Brazil. Argentina also reported growth as a result of government reforms and impetus provided by the agricultural sector. Russia's falling inflation rates, demand for replacement vehicles, and the signs of recovery shown by the country's economy resulted in a "significant" increase in sales. Positive development in China helped a "considerable" rise in Asia-Pacific.
Bus sales rose 8% to 19,220 helped mainly by higher volume in Brazil.
