Opel says board member and labour director, Ulrich Schumacher will leave the company effective 28 February.

The supervisory board of Opel has agreed to his request to be released from his duties for personal reasons and a successor will be named as soon as possible.

“Ulrich Schumacher has led the transformation of Human Resources at Opel/Vauxhall in Europe in the last five years and developed the function into an important part of the company strategy, for which we would like to thank him and express our appreciation,” said Opel CEO, Michael Lohscheller.

“Ulrich Schumacher has played an important role in the smooth transition process of Opel to Groupe PSA,” added PSA EVP HR, Xavier Chereau.

PSA has undergone its own management change recently with Lucie Vigier appointed head of corporate finance and Treasury reporting to Jean Baptiste de Chatillon, CFO and member of the managing board.

Vigier joined PSA in 1990 and was previously appointed head of Corporate Finance in 2012.
